Friends' Sunday Sounds: Nobody Does Sinatra Like Sonata SOLD OUT!

We have reached the limit of 50 people signed up for this program!

On Sunday, February 17 the Friends will present a cabaret-style luncheon with "Ol' Blue Eyes!" Michael Sonata is one of the most sought-after Frank Sinatra tribute artists in the country. His vocal styling and presence are second only to the singing legend himself.

Luncheon seating begins at 1:30 PM and the crooning is from 2:00-3:00 PM.

Learning Centers

Every Monday afternoon from 4:00-5:00 PM, learn about science, technology, engineering, arts, and math using STEAM kits set up in stations around the PC Lab. Registration begins one week before each weekly meeting and space is limited. For grades 4 and 5.

Join Dr. Joel Keller on Wednesday, February 20 from 7:00-8:30 PM as he teaches us all about the processes of recycling. What can be recycled? How do our communities currently handle recycling? And going forward, what are some recycling systems we can look to in the future?

On Monday, February 25 from 2:00-3:00 PM, Lysa Stanton of the Westlake Historical Society will discuss 19th Century mourning rituals and how our ancestors understood the grieving process. Some of these rituals may sound familiar to us and many will strike us as a little out of the ordinary.

The Friends of Porter Public Library invite you to join them for an evening of food and drinks from area eateries on Saturday, March 2 from 7:00 to 10:00 PM in support of a Story Walk at the Westlake Recreation Center!

Tickets are on sale now for $30 each and will be available at the door for $35. The ticket price includes vouchers for two drinks and samples of food from local restaurants. Beer and wine will be provided by local brewers and distributors. The Jazz Combo from Red Light Roxy (Demetrius Steinmetz on bass and Joe Hunter on piano) will provide entertainment.

Tickets may be purchased with cash or check at the Library’s Circulation Desk or from a Friends of Porter Library Board member.
