Join us for The Guitar's Story: An Afternoon of Classical and Baroque Guitar Music, this Sunday, September 24 from 2:00-3:30pm in the Porter Room.

Kevin Sherwin explores guitar music from traditions of both folk and art music, ranging from kingly dances and operatic serenades to native folk traditions of South America and Spain. Beginning at the crossroads between folk and art music from the guitar's beginnings in the 17th century, The Guitar's Story wends its way through the salon and the streets before reaching the great guitarists of the 20th century.

The Friends of the Library invite you to join us for an evening of music, food and drinks in support of Westlake Porter Public Library on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 7:00-10:00pm. The Jazz Combo from Red Light Roxy (Demetrius Steinmetz on bass and Joe Hunter on piano) will provide entertainment. Several local favorites will provide food and drinks!

Tickets are $30 in advance at the library or online and $35 at the door.

Hurricane Harvey Relief Drop-off

WPPL, along with the Westlake Recreation Center and PartnerShip, LLC, will serve as a drop-off location for supplies for those affected by Hurricane Harvey, from now through September 30th. PartnerShip will deliver donations to the Houston Food Bank.

Since September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month, it's a great time for everyone to get a library card! Once again, WPPL is joining forces with the eight other library systems in Cuyahoga County to promote "A Card for Every Kid."

Book Club in a Bag Now Available from Youth Services

Book Club Bag: The Mouse and the Motorcycle books and guide

WPPL now offers a selection of children's fiction and young adult titles in our Book Club in a Bag collection. Book Club Bags are sets that can be checked out for your own book discussion group or classroom.

The sets, which circulate for six weeks, each contain 12-15 copies of a single title and include questions and other supplemental materials to enrich your discussions. You can request a Book Club in a Bag via any service desk or by placing a hold in the online catalog under the search term "book club bag".
