    Overdrive also offers apps for Apple devices (iPhone, iPad), Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone.

    We also offer audiobooks that will play on many devices.

    Westlake Porter Public Library has a new, easy to use eBook and eAudiobook service! The cloudLibrary has great new titles for all ages and links up to your WPPL account.

    Use cloudLibrary on many devices, including:

    • Apple devices (iPad, iPhone)
    • Android tablets and phones
    • Kindle Fires
    • PCs and Macs (transfer to your Nook or Kobo e-reader)

    The set-up is simple – download the app, log in one time with your Westlake library card, and then you are set to read eBooks and eAudiobooks anytime, anywhere! Check out up to 10 titles at a time, and keep them all for 21 days, when the titles automatically expire from your account.

    We added the simple and intuitive cloudLibrary to respond to your feedback and keep up with the ever-growing demand for eBooks.

  • Download eBooks and Audiobooks Here! RBdigital

    RBdigital (formerly OneClickdigital by Recorded Books) is a great source of downloadable audiobooks available at Westlake Porter Public Library.

    After a quick one-time account set-up process on WPPL's customized RBdigital website, you can checkout and download audiobooks and eBooks from Recorded Books, including exclusive content from authors like Diana Gabaldon.

    There are also apps available for Android, Kindle Fire, iPhone and iPad.

  • DIGITAL MAGAZINES through your library's website! RBdigital

    RBdigital Magazines (formerly Zinio for Libraries) allows our users to instantly view magazines on any Internet-enabled device -- computer, e-reader, or other mobile device. We offer many popular titles. Each title allows unlimited multiple users.

    There are RBdigital apps* available for the iPhone, iPad, Android, and Kindle Fire for ease of use with those mobile devices. You can now access magazines in the same app you use for eAudiobooks from RBdigital.

    *Zinio for Libraries has merged with RBdigital. In late September or October 2017, you will no longer be able to access your magazine collection with the Zinio for Libraries app. If you use the app, please follow the instructions to download the new RBdigital app as soon as possible. Note that your username and password will remain the same. The above link to the website will also not be affected.

  • Download & Stream 13 Million+ Songs Freegal MusicFreegal provides downloadable music from Sony Music Entertainment and includes music from labels like Arista, RCA, and Columbia. You can download five MP3 songs per week (starting each Monday) as well as stream music 24 hours per day.

    The songs are DRM-free, which means you can play them on any device that plays MP3s: your iPad, your phone, that MP3 player in your junk drawer, it's up to you!

    Freegal also has an app, available for both Android and iOS devices.

    How it works:

    • Click on the Freegal logo above.
    • Log in using your library card number (all characters, no spaces)
    • Accept the end user licensing agreement
    • Browse by category, or search for specific artists.
    • When you find a song you like, click "download now" and save it to your computer.

    BiblioBoard Library is an easy-to-use platform that allows WPPL to offer high-quality books, articles, documents, images, audio and video content to patrons on the web and on eReaders. BiblioBoard Library is host to content from traditional publishers, indie authors, cultural institutions and more.

    Among the eBooks available, Biblioboard Library provides access to a collection of great reads from local authors.     SELF-e Powered by Library Journal logo

    In addition to discovering new authors in your back yard, you can become that author yourself with SELF-e and Pressbooks Public.

    SELF-e is an innovative collaboration between Library Journal and BiblioBoard® that enables authors and libraries to work together to expose notable self-published ebooks to eager readers looking to discover something new. Using SELF-e, WPPL will take submissions from local indie authors and make those ebooks available to any participating library across Ohio on BiblioBoard Library.

    To get your novel, memoir, poetry collection, or children's book in eBook and print-ready formats, try Pressbooks Public, an easy-to-use online tool that allows you to create professional quality versions of your book in ePUB, MOBI, PDF and more—all through your library.

    Hoopla offers streaming movies, television, music, eBooks, audiobooks, and comics! 

    • The loan period for eBooks, comics and audiobooks is 21 days
    • The loan period for music albums is 7 days.
    • The loan period for videos (movies and television) is 3 days.
    • You can watch, listen or read up to 20 items per month.

    You can access content with apps available for...

    To access content on your PC via a browser (such as Internet Explorer, Safari or Mozilla Firefox), a plugin may be required. Go to the Hoopla support page and click on Website Help to find which plugin to use with your browser.

  • Kanopy Thoughtful Entertainment

    Watch over over 26,000 films on Kanopy! You can watch must-see classic film from The Criterion Collection, learn about every subject imaginable from The Great Courses and PBS or indulge in festival indie or world cinema sourced from award-winning filmmakers globally. Kanopy makes it easy to watch any time, to share and discuss films.

    Here’s how to get started:

    • Go to and create an account.
    • Go to your email account to verify your email address.
    • Add your library card number (include all letters and numbers, no spaces).

    Now you are ready to start watching videos! 

    • You can stream up to 5 videos per month
    • Once you press play on a film you will have 3 days to watch it (as many times as you like)
    • Play credits will reset on the first of each month

    Apps are available for Roku, iOS and Android via the Kanopy website. The Kanopy app is pre-loaded on Roku devices borrowed from WPPL.

  • BookFLIX logoWatch, Read, & Learn

    Have fun online with paired fiction and nonfiction!

    Scholastic BookFlix is an online literacy resource that pairs classic video storybooks from Weston Woods with related nonfiction eBooks from Scholastic to build a love of reading and learning. This engaging resource for children in grades PreK-3 will help early readers develop and practice essential reading skills and introduces students to a world of knowledge and exploration.

    You can access Scholastic BookFlix anywhere there is an Internet connection –it’s like having access to the library’s collection 24 hours a day, seven days a week! To access BookFlix outside of the library, you will need your library card number.

    BookFlix includes:

    • 110 classic video storybooks each paired with a related nonfiction eBook. Spanish language versions of 32 pairs.
    • Read-aloud supports so students can hear each book narrated and also hear definitions of key words and directions for each activity read aloud.
    • Educational games and activities so children can show what they have learned.
    • And more!

    Scholastic BookFlix is specifically created to support non-, beginning and reluctant readers – it’s the perfect resource for independent reading practice at the library and at home!

  • TumbleBooks are available on FunStation PCs in the Youth Services area and at home! Have fun with reading in a whole new way!

  • There are many sources of free eBooks and audiobooks. Most are public domain (no longer subject to copyright) but there are some places to find free original content.

    Calibre logoCalibre is an open-source (free) ebook management tool, available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. You can sync eBooks to your ereading device and convert eBooks that are not protected by D.R.M. You can even download information from the web and convert it into eBooks.

    Calibre does not work with eBooks available through WPPL's eBook services, like OverDrive, but it is a great tool for managing other eBook libraries.
