Now Collecting Memories and Stories for the Veterans History Project

WPPL is joining the Library of Congress’ Veterans History Project and will begin collecting oral histories from veterans living in the area. The mission of the Veterans History Project is to collect, preserve and make accessible the personal accounts of American wartime veterans so that future generations may hear directly from veterans in their own words and better understand the realities of war.

We are looking for veterans, regardless of branch or rank, who served in the United States military, in any capacity, from World War I through the present and are no longer serving. If you are a veteran and would like to share your memories with your community, please stop by the library and see Dan Dmytrykiw, Local History Librarian, or contact him by telephone (440-250-5486) or via email at, to get more information on how you can participate in the project.

We’d love to hear from you!
