Favorite Picture Books 11/16/06

Hi Everyone! My name is Jamie and I am the Early Learning Specialist for the Youth Services Department. One of my duties is to select and order picture books for the library. I thought I would share a few of my favorite picture books with you.
Here we go...

Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss
This is one of my most favorite children's books. I remember asking my mom to read this book to me every night before bed.

The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg
Van Allburg's illustrations are so magical that they bring this story to life. Everytime I hear a bell ring during Christmastime I think of this book. (on a side note - I really enjoyed the movie too)

Annie Bananie by Leah Komaiko
This is a silly story about two little girls who are best friends and then one of the little girls moves away. Several years ago I gave this book to my best friend when she moved away.

The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein
This story to me represents unconditional love at its best. This is a great book to give as a gift.

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst
This book is a must have for everyone, because everyone has bad days (myself included).

Thanks for letting me share some of my favorites with you. If you have any favorite books you would like to share just drop by the Youth Services Department.
