The Northcoast Needlers Guild members made a special quilt to commemorate Westlake's 175th anniversary.
As an added touch, they incorporated small squares into the border bearing contributors' signatures. Each $5 contribution was donated toward a stone memorial bridge over a stream in Clague Park.
The quilters used patterns created from original photographs of Dover Township transferred onto graph paper, then colorfully appliquéd.
The quilt is on permanent display in the Quiet Room of Westlake Porter Public Library and available for viewing during regular library hours. You can see some of the details here, any time, in some special online pages. Click here to view the quilt.
