Computer Classes

Westlake Porter Public Library offers many different classes to help you get started using a computer.
There is no charge to participate but registration is required.

  2. Call (440) 250-5460 during library hours or,
  3. Click on class date to register online any time using this calendar!


Databases

A variety of databases is available for use in the library, both in the electronic services area and in the youth services area. No registration is required and there is no charge (except for printing which is $.10 per page). Some of the databases available on the network at this time are:

Computer Usage

Computers are available for the purposes of using the Internet and Microsoft Office applications. Common Microsoft Office applications available on PC Stations include: Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, and PowerPoint. Computer stations also provide 2 web browsers: Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer. You may bring a blank CD or USB drive to save your work.

USB ports, for the use of personal USB drive devices, are available on all computers. CD-ROM drives are also available on all computers; however, no rewritable CD-ROM drives are available. Floppy disks are still accessible on all computers through the use of a portable floppy drive. Ask at the Reference Desk. A Zip Drive is available on one computer. Computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis for a one-hour session. More time is available depending upon demand. Printing is 10 per page for black and white, and .25 per page for color printing.
