Friends' Annual Ice Cream Social

The Ice Cream Social is the culminating event to celebrate the end of the library's Summer Reading Program.

Mitchell’s Ice Cream Sundaes will be sold for $1! Come see The Big Daddies Band, have your face painted and join the cakewalk for just 50¢! Bid on the Silent Auction, shop all day at the Portables Gift Shop Sidewalk Sale and the Everything All-Day Half-Price Sale at our used book store, the Book Nook. Enjoy your ice cream in the library garden while listening to guitarist Pete Cavano.

This month, a crooked undertaker finds he must pay off his substantial debt to his landlord or risk being thrown out on the streets. He starts killing off his neighbors to save his faltering business, but when he decides that it would be easier to kill the landlord as well (instead of paying up), things take a turn for the comical and horrible in a way that he never would have expected.

Flag Retirement Collection

Rachel Altman, a junior at Westlake High School and a member of Girl Scout Troop #70285, is collecting worn flags as part of her Gold Award Project. Deposit your flag in the felt-lined box in the library's lobby before the retirement ceremony on Sunday, August 14 at 12:00pm in Clague Park.
