It's a great time to get a library card! This year's National Library Card Sign-Up Month is extra special in Cuyahoga County. WPPL is joining forces with the eight other library systems in the county to promote "A Card for Every Kid."
How Does It Work?
Kids in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 12 (18-years or younger) are encouraged to visit WPPL in September to apply for a library card and/or have fines on an existing card forgiven. Those who do will also receive a tote bag and a scented pencil to take home!
Westlake Porter Public Library is providing a new 3D printer for public use!
In order to use the printer, you'll need to take an orientation first. Learn library policies about using it, how to download a 3D-printable object, and how to prepare it for a great print!
The first class is on Monday, October 3 at 7:00 pm. All classes held in the PC Lab. Please register online or call the library at 440-871-2600.
Historian and lecturer Bill Rafalski gives an interactive presentation on Alfred Hitchcock. Topics will include Hitchcock's childhood, education, work in silent movies, British films, collaborations with David O. Selznick, and his American films and TV shows.

Parents are invited to learn how the Westlake City Schools are preparing children to make a positive contribution to the ever expanding global society on Wednesday, October 12 at 7:00 pm in the Dover Room. At this meeting International Baccalaureate (IB) coordinators, teachers, parents, current and former students will describe the impact IB has made on their professions and lives and have a chance to ask questions about their experiences.

Do you have cute pet? Submit their photo and win a prize you both can share! We will share the photos with other pet lovers, too.
- Photos must highlight reading and include your pet.
- Photos must be taken by an amateur photographer and must be the work of the contestant.
- Photographers must be customers of Westlake Porter Public Library.
- All entries must be received between September 26 and October 16, 2016.
- Only one entry per pet. Multi-pet households can submit more than one photo but only one photo per pet.
- The photographer grants permission to Westlake Porter Public Library to use the photo in social media, print and online posts.
