Dover's first general store, as represented by Nancy Plain, was located on the southwest corner of Bradley and Center Ridge Roads, the present-day site of Wagner's Country Inn. Nancy was helped in her design coloration by a painting of the store she discovered on display at Wagner's. The original store was owned by Peter Hoffman and operated by one Mr. Bentley.
