The brick yard, as depicted here by native Westlaker Gloria (Schneider) Shollenberger, is based on a photograph dated about 1900. The yard was owned and operated by Isaac Asplin at 23045 Detroit Road, on the Rocky River border. All that is left of the plant today is the memory, the signature of Mr. Asplin's descendent on this quilt, and a road named Brick Yard Run in King James North.
