These resources are now updated daily and accessed over the Internet. In addition to the network, there are five standalone stations. In the Youth Services area you will find an assortment of CD-ROM learning games. Common Microsoft Office applications available on PC Stations include: Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, and PowerPoint. Internet Stations provide both Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers. You may bring a "floppy disc" if you wish to save your work; we recommend, however, that you purchase and use a USB drive for this purpose as they have far greater capacity, are faster to access, and are more reliable than "floppies." Reservations are accepted over the phone for the two-hour Internet and PC stations. When no prior reservations have been scheduled, all computer stations are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The user is responsible for notifying the library if a reservation must be cancelled. Reservations are held for 15 minutes. Zip Drives are available on four computers. Floppy and CD-ROM drives are available on all computers (no rewritable CD-ROM drives are available), and USB ports are available for the use of personal USB drive devices. Installing software is not permitted. For further information, see the Public Internet Access and Computer Use Policy.
