Introducing automatic renewals, timelier overdue notices

To help make managing your library accounts a little easier, the Westlake Library is introducing a couple of changes.

Automatic renewals: Each day when the library closes, a computer program will check the system for items that were due that day and will attempt to renew them. Each card holder with successful auto-renewals will receive an emailed list of their renewed items along with the new due dates. Starting date: Monday, January 29, 2018.

RIP Ursula K. Le Guin

Together with contemporaries like Philip K. Dick and Samuel R. Delany, Le Guin demonstrated that literate, moving stories could be told within the confines of genre, an important lesson for modern best-selling writers like Neil Gaiman and David Mitchell, who hailed her work.

Movie awards season is here and in full swing! A look at an awards season calendar is dizzying to say the least! The Film Independent Spirit Awards nominees were announced back in November. In December the Golden Globe Awards, Critics’ Choice Awards and Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards nominations were announced.
