Happy Hallowilloween!

Celebrate All Hallow's Eve by reading Hallowilloween written and illustrated by Calef Brown. Hallowilloween is a silly spooky collection of Halloween poems. Brown writes about the Vumpire and the Oompachupa loompacabra. The illustrations are as entertaining as the text.

Black Cat

Your child will be captivated by the poems until the very end. Hallowilloween is also a great book to read aloud.  The following craft can be made with household items and a little adult supervision.

Materials

  • Brown lunch bag
  • Black Crayon
  • Two white pipe cleaners
  • Pink construction paper
  • Two googly eyes
  • Two cotton balls
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Instructions

  1. Cut the lunch bag half way down from the open end and leave two points for ears (see picture above)
  2. Color the entire outside front of the lunch bag with the black crayon
  3. Cut two small triangles and one mini triangle from the pink construction.
  4. Glue the two small triangles on the front outside of the paper bag over triangles made for the ears.
  5. Glue the mini triangle in the middle of the outside of the paper bag for the nose
  6. Glue the googly eyes on the paper bags just above the nose
  7. Glue the two cotton balls side by side just below the nose
  8. Cut the pipe cleaners into 6 equal lengths and glue three on either side of each cotton ball

Have a Safe and Happy Halloween!
