Title

Collection Development Manager

 

QUALIFICATIONS

ALA-accredited MLS is required. Minimum of 5 years of professional library experience with an emphasis on collection development.  Thorough knowledge of principles, theories and concepts of library science is required.  Working knowledge of both traditional and electronic reference sources is essential.  Ability to work with the Windows based operating system, word-processing, spreadsheets, and e-mail and library software programs at a highly proficient level. Supervisory experience preferred.  Must be knowledgeable of current and emerging technologies.  Ability to lead,communicate and function effectively in a team-oriented environment is critical.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Director, the Collection Development Manager oversees the selection of all library materials.  Contributes to the supervising and evaluation of employees engaged in material selection duties. Negotiates vendor contracts.  Seeks out and recommends new material format opportunities.

HOURS

40 Hours per week. 
Daytime, Evening and weekend hours required.

CLASSIFICATION

Senior Manager/ Salary Grade 410, Exempt
 
Range:  $23.72/hr. - $29.65/hr.
