QUALIFICATIONS

BA/BS required.  Additional education or experience working with children or in a library is desirable.  Ability to work with the Windows based operating system, word-processing, spreadsheets, email, and library software programs at a highly proficient level.  Must have proficient interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION

Under supervision of the Youth Services Manager, provides assistance to children and adults in the library.  Visits schools and local organizations to promote the library.  Locates materials, provides reading guidance, instructs children in computer use and provides programming for children of all ages.

HOURS

16 Hours Per week
Daytime, Evening and Weekend Hours Required

The “Friends of WPPL” is a non-profit association dedicated to the support and nurturing of Westlake Porter Public Library.  Friends volunteers run the annual book sales, work at the Portables Gift Shop and coordinate and plan public programs.  Each year, Friends provide funding to the library to purchase special items or to support library programs.
 
Friends Officers and Board Members work closely with the Director and other library staff to ensure coordination of activities to the mutual benefit of the library, the Friends group, and the community.
 
Friends is looking for new Board Members to serve on their Board of Trustees.  The term of service is 2 years.  The Friends of Porter Public Library meet once a month, on the 2nd Thursday at 7 p.m., at the Library.  Interested parties should contact:

QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in Business Administration with Major in Accounting; or, Bachelor of Science with an accounting major and a CPA accreditation.  Minimum five years’ experience in accounting and business management fields in progressively responsible positions, preferably in the public sector.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the Library.  Administers fiscal management of library resources and funds.  Provides long-term outlook and projections for budget planning.  Follows legal and procedural regulations as defined under the O.R.C. for receiving, investing and appropriating funds.  Supervises 3-person business office.  Serves as a non-voting officer of the Board.

HOURS

40 Hours Per Week
Daytime, Evening and Weekend Hours Required

JOB CLASSIFICATION

Exempt
 
Salary based on qualifications and experience, $55,000 minimum.
