There are a lot of sporting events being held in the Cleveland area this summer and fall, many of them attracting an international field of participants. In chronological order, here are some activities that might be worth a look.

Eight teams will compete for the Mid-American Conference Baseball Championship at All-Pro Freight Staduim in Avon, Ohio. http://www.mac-sports.com/Championships/Baseball2013.aspx
May 29 - U. S. Soccer Men's National Team vs. Belgium - 8 pm
This is only the third time that the U.S. team has appeared in Cleveland - it will be a tune-up for the upcoming World Cup qualifying matches. You can see the game at First Energy Stadium - Home of the Cleveland Browns (Cleveland Browns Stadium works better for me!).
July 4-7 - Continental Cup International Youth Sports Festival
This is the 8th year for this festival, whose vision is to create a large, vibrant annual civic event that celebrates internationalism, youth diversity, and sportsmanship. September 21 - Cleveland Classic - 1 pm
This annual event showcases two historically black college football teams - the match-up this year features Winston-Salem State vs. Tuskegee at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

Don't forget the Cleveland Indians, currently sitting at the top of the AL Central Division. They also boast a record of 7-1 against Cy Young winners. Go Tribe!

Their mandatory Mini Camp will be held June 4-6, with practice for the preseason and regular season beginning July 27. The first preseason game is at home against St. Louis on Thurs. Aug. 8.
