Schmappy Schmalentine's Day

Hey everybody, hope you guys are staying out of trouble and had a happy Valentine’s Day, complete with cards (Caution: Zelda reference!) and delicious candy (Caution: Chocolate)! Also, it was my birthday last Friday. Hopefully, you all celebrated in the typical manner.

SPORTS!

Football is officially over with the ex-Cleveland Browns winning their second Super Bowl in franchise history. We may have to wait six months for more football, but baseball is slowly getting ready to start, with players reporting for spring training in Florida and Arizona last week. The best part about the start of the baseball season? Less of this.

Finally, March Madness is rapidly approaching; try to contain your excitement.

BOOKS!

I finally finished the awesome Escape from Furnace series by Alexander Gordon Smith (There are five books in the series: Lockdown; Solitary; Death Sentence; Fugitives; and Execution) and these books have become my favorite book to recommend. Based in a distant future England after “age riots” between adults and youths, all violent crimes committed by juveniles are punished with zero tolerance. Violators are given life sentences to Furnace, a maximum security prison located a mile below Earth’s surface. Starting with Lockdown, this series follows the case of Alex Sawyer, who was framed for the murder of his best friend. Confronted by prison fights, bad food and strange beasts, Alex knows he must find a way to break out. But this is just the beginning, as the life sentence quickly becomes the least of his worries in Furnace Penitentiary…
