So my perfect sports prediction record lasted a total of exactly ONE week, oh well. The good thing for me though is that no major sports happening are going on now for at least a couple weeks, so I can’t unleash my horrible predicting skills on you. Although pitchers and catchers do report for baseball training camp in one week, it’s probably too soon to predict that the Cincinnati Reds will win the World Series.
BOOKS!!!!1!!!1111!!@@!!#
I just finished a pretty good book the other day, surprised? It’s called Legend and was written by Marie Lu. Set in a future Los Angeles, the United States is a different place. To start things off, the US doesn’t even really exist anymore. There are two nations feuding (civil war style) nations instead: The Colonies on the east coast and THE REPUBLIC taking over the west. Wracked with violence and plague, the Republic rules with an iron fist and their prize student/soldier is June Iparis. Tasked with hunting down the notorious criminal known simply as Day for her first official task, June is anxious to be proven worthy of her lofty status. Yet, when she finds her morals and beliefs compromised in the process, she is forced to question the infallibility and justness of the Republic. However, June soon finds out that one does not easily question the Republic and live to get away with it. Seriously though, this book was what we in the industry refer to as a “real page turner”. It’s been a while since I read a book that I couldn’t put down until I finished like I did with this one. GO READ IT.
Well, I was planning on writing more, but the library closes in fifteen minutes, so I don’t have time to finish. Guess you’ll have to wait until next week!!! In the meantime, I hope Everyone has a Happy Valentine's Day! Also, be sure to celebrate my birthday this Wednesday in the traditional manner.
