When I’m in the car and it’s around noon, I always make sure the radio is on 99.5 WGAR. Why? you may ask. Every weekday for the past few years, they play the National Anthem. It may seem silly to some people, but every time I hear it, it reminds me of 9/11, all those we lost, and all those protecting our great country, both here and abroad.
Jim Bass, of Mike Bass Ford, who sponsors the noon time lunch break, mentioned that you really don’t hear the National Anthem played anywhere outside sporting events. “It demonstrates our patriotism, reminds those that hear the anthem on the radio of the sacrifices made over the years for us to enjoy the freedom in such a great country.”
What makes a great National Anthem? It’s got to give me goose bumps, as this one from Martina McBride does. Which is your favorite?
