  • The Olympics - the U.S. wins the Medal Count with a total of 104 gold, silver, and bronze.

August - PGA Championship - Winner - Rory McIlroy

September -

  • Tennis - U.S. Open - Men's Champion - Andy Murray, Women's - Serena Williams
  • Ryder Cup Golf - Europe comes from behind to defeat the U.S. 14 1/2 to 13 1/2

The bowl games have started and the New Year is just around the corner.  The 2013 sports calendar will be in full swing again, starting with the BCS Championship Game between Notre DAme and Alabame on Monday, January 7.  The first golf tournament of the year is the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, January 4-7 in Hawaii.  February 3 is the date for Super Bowl 47 in New Orleans.  We'll follow it all here in The Sports Section.
