NO!!!!! Zombies are at the door! The apocalypse has begun and honey, if you don't know the rules, you'll just become another flesh-craving victim. What are those rules, you ask? How do you find them? Well, they're conveniently available in "Zombies Calling", a fun graphic novel by Faith Erin Hicks.
Joss, a beleaguered college student, is a super-fan of Zombie movies and she knows that there are certain rules to follow in order to defeat zombies, as laid out in the movies she watches. And when her campus is invaded by a flesh-eating swarm of them, she becomes the hero she was meant to be, and saves her friends' lives in the process.
This is a fun scary tale, just right for these dark autumn evenings. the black & white illustrations are edgy and clean--my only complaint is that the book itself is cut rather close--I think the printer put the wrong measurements in or something because some of the text is literally at the very bottom of the page, nearly cut off.
If you liked this story, try "Brain Camp" (by this author as well) for another dose of creep-tastic fun.
