Ghosts and vampires and zombies, oh my!

Reaper of St. George Street
My Boyfriend is a Monster

Have you noticed there's a lot of monsters running around in teen literature lately?

If you haven't, get out from under that rock and start reading!  Monsters are running rampant through all genres, including--you guessed it!--comics.  What's cool about the graphic novel side of it is that you get some super visuals to go along with the creepy storylines.

One super-fun series for teens is "My Boyfriend is a Monster".  In this series the girls fall for the guys--with monstrous consequences!  I read "I Love Him to Pieces" by Evonne Tsang; Dicey falls for Jack on the eve of the Zombie Apocalypse and during their flight he is accidentally bitten.  Can she get him to help in time?

Another fun title that just landed in the teen department is "The Reaper of St. George Street" by Andre Frattino.  When a murderous ghost begins wreaking havoc on the streets of St. Augustine, it's up to a group of college students to solve the mystery.  What does the ghost want with Claire, who bears an eerie resemblance to a long-dead resident?  Will our hero, Will, remain a skeptic after all he witnesses?

Enjoy reading these and other fun, creep-tastic titles in our teen department.  Don't forget to make sure the back door is locked before you go to bed.  And don't worry-- I won't tell anyone if you leave the light on all night.

Until next time--
